![]() Platte County Sheriff's Office The Chaplain Corp is designed to play a key role in assisting victims struggling with crisis by providing spiritual counseling, family assistance, and bereavement support and to assist law enforcement officers with death notifications. The Corp is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and consists of volunteer ministers from a variety of religious affiliations. All of the volunteer chaplains are trained in crisis management and are under the direction of the Emergency Services Division of the Platte County Sheriff's Office. They are active in riding with patrol officers in order to learn what officers' experience on a daily basis, and to cultivate a working relationship between the first responders and the chaplains. The Chaplain Corp meets under the direction of Sheriff's Office Chaplain Joe Taloff on a regular basis at the Platte County Sheriff's Office. Discussion topics include specific techniques to better serve the public in crisis situations and ways to improve the Chaplain Corps program. |
